The 2012 Summer Concert Series!

Our third season is shaping up to be our best yet! We hope you'll continue to make an appearance or two, at the finest outdoor music venue in the area!

Like the previous two seasons, we're running on Friday evenings, from June 1st through August 31st. Brats and burgers on the grill, cold beverages, and great live music from the area's best bands. Next to the lake, under the stars.

Since last season we've fielded an overwhelming amount of requests for a more consistent lineup of high quality entertainment, and we've paid attention to those requests! As a result, and also as a result of the beating we took last year in regards to the weather, we'll be instituting a cover charge at the door for each show. The cover charge will be no more than what you're used to paying at other venues. It's the only way we could fulfill your wishes AND keep our doors open, but we know that you'll have no problem with it.

Why do I keep mentioning "doors"?  We don't really have any doors.

Other than that small change, it's going to be business as usual. Let's just hope that mother nature allows more fun to happen this year!

So, without further blah-blah-blah, please check out the schedule (scroll down!), mark the dates on your calendar, and we hope to see you soon!

If you haven't yet done so, sign up for our email newsletter below.  You'll receive emails announcing upcoming events and any other news we deem worthy.  We won't share your email address with anyone, and we won't fill up your inbox.  Sign up today!  Right now!

The 2012 Summer Concert Series Schedule:

Doors open at 7:30pm.  Shows begin at 8:00pm (ish).  Unless otherwise specified.

Friday, June 1 - Beyond 10
Website: www.myspace.com/beyond10
Facebook: www.facebook.com/Beyond10
Beyond 10 is an entertainment driven group of accomplished musicians having a great time rockin' out to their favorite music, and inviting YOU to come along! If you like your rock music full of energy, high pitched vocals and rockin' guitar solos, you're going to fit right in! We couldn't think of a better opening act for the 2012 season!

Friday, June 8 - The Stone Electric
Website: www.thestoneelectric.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/thestoneelectric
Rock and Roll SwAGGER. If you like your Faces, Humble Pie, Janis, Jimi and Zep, you're in for a real treat! The Stone Electric are heavily influenced by the quintessential late 60s, early 70s Rock n’ Roll movement and began to shape their vision as an unpretentious, straightforward, Rock n’ Roll band in 2006. They are now known for Lead singer Noni Crow’s distinctive voice and raw delivery, as well as lead guitarist Austyn Crow’s reckless blues driven swagger. The Stone Electric has managed to create a high energy live show as well as capture that same essence in their recordings. As seasoned musicians and studious descendants of the Rock genre, The Stone Electric not only understand the importance of chemistry but also give way to natural passion in their exciting onstage performances. All of this along with electrically charged songs like “tequila mockingbird” and “the elephant” or the sultry gospel of “mercy me” on their self-titled debut album, The Stone Electric have developed an explosive brand of music with a new level of intensity that separates them from the other bands who are trying to replant the rock n’ roll seed. Don't miss this one, folks.

Friday, June 15 - X-Krush
Website: www.xkrush.net
Facebook: www.facebook.com/xxkrush
Amazing vocals and guitar work along with a solid rhythm section, great sound/light crew and kick ass song selection is what X-Krush has to offer. It's not rocket science, it's Rock and Roll! Johnny Cash to Pantera, Lady Gaga to The Muse, Elvis to Rage Against The Machine, Beastie Boys to The Ramones. X-Krush will play whatever they think will get bodies moving so the event ROCKS! Awesome, awesome band! If there was a cover band crown, these guys would have it in their possession.

Friday, June 22 - Leather Pistol
Website: www.leatherpistol.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Leather-Pistol/125649494154989
Myspace: www.myspace.com/leatherpistol
The Ultimate 80's Hair Metal Band. How can a band go wrong with names like Vince Venus, Wally Van Hagar and Poss Rockalaqua?  Prepare to rock out to your favorite hair metal tunes!  Remember MTV in it's glory days?  That's what a Leather Pistol show is like, only without Mark Goodman and Alan Hunter! And with MORE HAIR. Guitars solos, soaring vocals, all saturated by repeating echoes and drenched in reverb. Ah.

Friday, June 29 - Poprocks
Website: www.poprocksfanclub.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Poprocks/148454465181689
Toted as the Midwest's Number One Party Band! You know, they might be right. Poprocks are on a mission to fill dance floors everywhere! Using funk and disco classics from the 70's, rock and new wave hits from the 80's, and modern high energy hits from the 90's and beyond, they'll keep the dance floor packed and rocking! Just be careful when dancing, after all, it's gravel.

Friday, July 6 - Blue Suede Crew
Website: www.bluesuedecrew.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/The-Blue-Suede-Crew/93379546855
The Blue Suede Crew is embraced by audiences, young and old, who sing along with every word. Leading the Crew is Scott Wattles, a charismatic entertainer recognized as one of the top ETA's in the US and Canada. Scott is an outgoing entertainer that skillfully captures Presley's throaty baritone and uninhibited gyrations. Specializing in the sexy black leather look of the "1968 Comeback" to the slim white jumpsuit era of the early 70's, Scott and the Crew recreate the high energy Vegas style show that Presley performed during the peak of his career.

Friday, July 13 - Larry, Dirk & Myles
Website: n/a
Facebook:
www.facebook.com/pages/Larry-Dirk-Myles/246646098681486
Jammin' acoustic guitar. Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, old & new & a few of thier own. Three vocals and some truly incredible guitar work. You just don't see this kind of playing on acoustic guitar. All three are excellent guitars but the interplay between Larry & Myles is stunning, calling to mind Allman Brothers-like intuition whether it's slower and soulful or at breakneck speed. Dirk has been a favorite vocalist of local audiences for over a decade and Myles is following hard on his father's heels and bringing a younger style of music to the group. Great songs, vocals and guitar virtuosity are what set LD&M apart and make each performance unique!

Friday, July 20 - Crazy Horse Band
Website: n/a
Facebook:
www.facebook.com/pages/Crazy-Horse-Band/163609107022157
One of the better Classic Rock and Contemporary Country cover bands in the area, which stands to reason, because these guys have been performing forever! Marty, Adam, Joe and Rex will be bringing their party faces, so you'd better plan on doing the same! It's always fun with the Crazy Horse Band! Saddle up!!

Friday, July 27 - Timmy D and Blind Justice
Website: www.timmydandblindjustice.com/
Facebook: www.facebook.com/Blindjusticeband
A rocking blend of Classic British and Texas Blues Rock. They're coming down from the Champaign/Urbana area, where they've been tearing up the local club circuit, taking no prisoners, but leaving plenty of satisfied audiences in their wake. Fans of Humble Pie, SRV, Clapton, Beck, Blackmore and Gibbons will not be disappointed.

Friday, August 3 - X-Krush
Website: www.xkrush.net
Facebook: www.facebook.com/xxkrush
We know what to expect from these guys. Which is why we wanted them twice this season!

Friday, August 10 - SuperBad
Website: www.funkysuperbad.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Superbad-The-Band/205398736205303
Thank the heavens they didn't name this band "White chocolate", although the moniker would fit. Holy Funk, people, you'll love this band. Trust us. Throw some jazzy sax and jazzy trumpet lines over a HUGE THROBBING bed of funk, and you won't know what hit ya. Now we just have to figure out how to keep the wonderful bliss below 95 decibels. Jump back kiss myself.

Friday, August 17 - Feudin' Hillbillys
Website: www.feudinhillbillys.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Feudin-Hillbillys/23564827948
Ryan Ideus and the Hillbillys are gracing The Stage again this year, and we couldn't be more excited about it! We really dig what these guys do - they take classic 70's and 80's songs rarely heard these days, and give them a big kick in the rear! Ryan is a fantastic entertainer and he'll keep everyone pumped up all night long! Plus, the Hillbillys have a secret weapon in Jesse Francis, probably the best fiddle player in Illinois! Oh yeah, we're going to have us some feudin' fun.  The only question is, who will be the Hatfields, and who will be the McCoys?

Friday, August 24 - Five Gone Mad
Website: www.fivegonemad.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/fivegonemad
Myspace: www.myspace.com/5gonemad
Brandi and the fellas like to play. We like to watch Brandi and the fellas like to play. So will you. Yes, they're mad. But that's what gives them their edge. No one plays music quite like a mad musician, and very few people can sing as well as Brandi can. A healthy dose of 5GM will be just what the psychiatrist ordered. Oh, and some beer n brats too. This is going to be some mad fun. Join us please. Bring a straightjacket.

Friday, August 31 - Leather Pistol
Website: www.leatherpistol.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Leather-Pistol/125649494154989
Myspace: www.myspace.com/leatherpistol
We think so highly of these guys that we booked them twice this season. This date will be the season closer, and promises to be the best evening yet, all season, primarily because Leather Pistol is the Ultimate 80's Hair Metal Band. Ah. Pass the cheese please.
